Celebrating 250 Years of American Independence
The Town of Windham is proud to join communities across the nation in celebrating the 250th Anniversary of American Independence. As America marks this historic milestone, Windham will honor the values that have shaped our nation—community, freedom, service, and tradition—with a weekend of family-friendly events, live entertainment, local traditions, and spectacular fireworks.
Residents and visitors are invited to celebrate America 250 the Windham way with music, food, games, a parade, community activities, and more throughout the holiday weekend.
Friday, July 3
Live Music at CD Lane Park
6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Enjoy an evening of live music featuring Flirtin’ With Disaster at CD Lane Park.
Saturday, July 4
Giant Balloon Experience
Centre Church | 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Help create a giant 10-foot by 19-foot balloon American flag. Stop by to help build the display, watch the process, or take a patriotic red, white, and blue selfie.
Annual Sand Castle Contest
CD Lane Park | 11:00 a.m.
A Windham tradition for all ages.
Church Street Celebration
4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Enjoy a community celebration featuring:
- Food trucks

- Face painting
- Temporary tattoos
- Uncle Sam stilt walker

Parade Route
- Step-off at Route 296
- Parade concludes at the Windham Fire Department
Community organizations, businesses, families, and civic groups are encouraged to participate.
Fireworks Finale
The weekend concludes with a spectacular fireworks display over Windham Mountain Club, lighting up the Catskill sky in celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary.
